"Le
Provençal" studio, located on the quiet courtyard
of a very charming 18th-century building in the heart of Le Marais,
is the pride and joy of owner, Adrian Leeds, editor of the Parler
Paris and French
Property Insider newsletters. There isn't an apartment in
Paris more charming and cheerful...ask all who have had the pleasure
of staying here.
Le
Provençal is completely equipped in spite of its size!
Complete with a king size bed that converts to twin beds when
desired, a Siemens brand washer/dryer combination, espresso maker,
microwave, toaster-oven, two-burner ceramic stove, refrigerator,
high speed Internet, flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo, and free(!)
long distance phone service, this delightful and cozy studio makes
a perfect Parisian home for one or two.
The
studio has been crafted with loving hands by a local mosaic artist
who created the mosaic-tiled kitchen and bathroom and special
touches on the walls. The bright colors of Provence make it a
continuously happy place to hang your hat after a long day visiting
Paris.
The
bath is equipped with both a rain shower head and hand-held shower,
magnifying mirror, hair dryer and glass shelving to put all your
personal belongings. There is ample storage space in a floor-to-ceiling
closet equipped with a clothing hamper, marketing cart, step stool,
three areas of hanging space for your clothing, four drawers and
lots of shelving.
Located
on the third floor (European, no elevator) up sweet carpeted wooden
Marais stairs, facing southeast, this quiet studio gets a beautiful
amount of sunlight through all three windows, decorated with colored
shades and white linen drapes. When the windows are open, you'll
be able to smell the fresh rosemary planted in the window boxes.
Le
Marais and the Area Around Rue de Bretagne
With
rue de Bretagne just next door, the apartment embraces the heart
of the Marais and central Paris with all the typical French commerce
you could ever wish for, including three boulangeries
(bakeries), a number of boucheries (butchers), poissonneries
(fish markets), epiceries (grocery stores), primeurs
(fruit/vegetable shops), fleuristes (flower shops), bar/tabacs
(tobacco shops), cafés and lots of excellent and
charming restaurant, not to mention Paris' oldest covered market,
Les Enfants Rouges, which dates back to 1615! In the
last few years, designer boutiques and art galleries have sprung
up like tulips. The district becomes more and more important to
Paris' finest artisans. It is only minutes from the Musée
Picasso, the Places des Vosges and a fifteen-minute
walk to Saint-Paul, Hôtel de Ville and Notre
Dame. Don't miss the Square du Temple, Le Carreau
du Temple and the City Hall of the 3rd Arrondissement before
reaching Place de la République. The
location is great and with a large number of transportation lines,
you're only minutes away from just about every part of the city.

We loved your place...Such fun. Thank you.
Renee & Jim McCooey
We
had a lovely time in Paris, due mostly to being so comfortable
at Le Provencal.

We
enjoyed our stay in this lovely little apartment. It was so close
to everything and every great tourist attraction. We loved the
area and the orange theme simulated in this room. Than you for
all your help and service.

Your
"Le Provençal"certainly lived up to my hopes
for this séjour à Paris. The cheerful appointments
and central location were perfect for all my needs, in the city
and the suburbs, as well. The WiFi Internet access and international
telephone service were also a great comfort and convenience. What
an improvement on a hotel!!

Le
Provençal felt to us like Le Petit Trianon must have felt
to Marie-Antoinette...an eagerly awaited, warm, safe and welcoming
haven to go home to when the 'hustle and bustle' and 'must-do's'
of the day were finally over. Thank you for your welcome, the
comfy bed and the fantastic supply of guidebooks and DVD's. Having
just skimmed the surface of what Paris and Le Marais have to offer,
we look forward to our next visit.

What a comfortable, relaxing setting for a stay in Paris...a welcome
change from the hotel's sterile routine. I hope to come back soon.
Thanks, Adrian

and I had a wonderful time once again in Paris. It was great meeting
you at the Café du Marché. The apartment was full
of bright and sunny colors which made up for the cloudy and rainy
days. Thanks for investing in a comfy bed. We will miss the French
cuisine and wonderful wines. Merci beaucoup!

Merci
beaucoup! Nous adore Le Provençal! My husband and I felt
right at home in this neighborhood and broke our Left Bank habit!
We will stay here again and again in the future! We highly recommend
every thing in the area from the boulangerie to the supermarché,
Chez Omar to Café Charlot, we felt like local Parisians
and hope to buy property here in the future!

Absolutely
loved Paris and living in this neighborhood was a huge part of
experience. My sister and I experienced so many friendly people
and inviting places at every corner. I'm going to start planning
my next trip as soon as I get home! The fromager shop across the
street was so helpful and we wish the flower shop was in our neighborhood
at home. Sitting in the parks in all corners has been great --
a highlight. Can't thank you enough for the warm and beautiful
apartment to spend our quiet time. Merci beaucoup!

Now we're more excited than ever about buying our own little piece
of Paris. Merci et grosses bises.

Adrian,
this week in Paris has been a dream come true! Thanks for all
you did to make it happen. Le Provencal is magnificent! So cozy
and inviting. Thanks for being so gracious and welcoming to Christina
and I.

Adrian,
thank you so much for allowing my aunt and I to stay in Le Provencal.
It was perfect for the two of us and it was so cute. Thank you
for assisting us in apartment hunting. You were a huge help. Hopefully
I will see you again in my next visit to Paris and many more to
come.

I've
been coming to Paris for over 20 years from two to four weeks
a year, but finally decided to forgo hotels and rent because I
faithfully read Parler Paris. I certainly chose the right apartment!
I'm sure there's not another in the city so well equipped and
totally homey, with such a comfortable bed and absolutely everything!!
I've been wanting to stay in the Marais for years and now, will
stay nowhere else! The "next step," I suppose, will
be buying here, but that will be a while, which means I'll continue
to rent "Le Provençal" for my next visits here!
Brava, Adrian, you've created home-away-from-home in the most
beautiful city in the world!
Susan Aurinko
In
all the hustle and bustle it was so quiet here! A hidden treasure...I
was even getting used to the stairs. My granddaughter was delighted
and will certainly tell all of her friends about the cute little
apartment we stayed in in Paris. WE utilized the kitchen several
times. I even baked a clafouti in the little oven -- no problem.
I'll keep your number for my next visit! No more hotels!

your adorable apartment.

What
a charming place, a pleasure to the eyes and the soul. And my
back is no longer sore thanks to your perfect mattress! I wish
I could have stayed longer. In fact, next time I'm in Paris, "isolé,"
if I remember the word correctly, and I'm sure I didn't, I will
definitely want to rent this place. You're the best, and your
apartment is super! (That's su-pair, not su-purr, as you stinking
already know.)

Adrian,
the wonder woman, does it again! Le Provençal is beautiful,
organized, not wanting for a thing. It was the perfect place for
my (our) stay. Thank you for everything.

Thank
you for everything! I loved staying in Le Provençal --
you've thought of everything, as I've told you several times.
I was very, very comfortable and staying in the apartment was
delightful. I've written about my activities and made other notes
in the French Country Diary, if anyone has questions about my
10-week stay, don't hesitate to have them email me. Thanks, again!!!

The
apartment is just as cute as it looks on the Internet, and was
actually larger than I had expected. Every time we visit Paris
we become more addicted!

I'm
a believer! Renting an apartment while visiting Paris -- and renting
one as delightful and charming as Le Provençal enhanced
my holiday more than I ever thought possible. You've furnished
this incredible place as if you were going to live here and the
attention to detail is incredible. Already I've recommended it
to so many people that I'll probably never be able to reserve
it again! Merci beaucoup et au revoir.

This
apartment and this neighborhood is everything and more we could
have hoped for. I don't want to stay anywhere else on my future
trips back to Paris. Thank you for your good taste, your attention
to detail and your professionalism! See you next time!

Provençal is the perfect oasis in this most beautiful city.
The neighborhood is so lovely and the people so friendly. We can't

Thank
you so much for a wonderful stay! I can't imagine staying anywhere
else (you've spoiled me!). Thanks also for checking in on me when
I was sick. Your care made a miserable week tolerable.

A
wonderful stay (in spite of the "grèves") in
Le Provençal. Merci pour votre aide. We love this district
-- especially Julien, La Caviste and the Café Charlot (new!)
and the fromagerie -- yum. P.S. Used your guide a lot and loved
it!
